A life simulation game by Electronic Arts, Sims 4 as all the previous versions offers you creating Sims, controlling their lives and exploring various personalities. There are many different tasks that you need to undertake to unlock the other aspects of the game.
There is also a significant change in Sims 4 around which there was so much talk. It concerns the system of displaying the desires and emotions of the characters. If earlier feelings displayed the level of sim's happiness or vice versa, now there appeared separate states of the soul. "Inspiration", "playfulness", "coquetry", "embarrassment" and other colors of the emotional spectrum are available in the new version.
Graphics — 5/5
When it comes to the graphics of Sims 4, they have been rendered on quite a high quality. The game boasts of its 3D graphics which enhances the overall gaming experience. The colors palette used in the game is subtle, as well as, soothing. Right from the characters to plants, pets, and vehicles, everything has been designed in details. You won’t come across any graphical glitch as you rejoice the game.
Gameplay — 4/5
The gameplay is about creating Sims and managing all their actions and activities. You start from managing your sim's appearance. Talking about it, all the annoying sliders went to the trash, and now you can thoroughly customize the appearance.
The construction mode became better, but not perfect yet. Yes, there are diagonal walls, ceilings of different heights and stretchable rooms.
The Sims 4 lost many of the things that used to be by default. In the game there are no Sims-babies (the kids are here again on the rights of fixed furniture), there are no pools, no ghosts. Several essential and oldest careers, like the medical one, disappeared without a trace.
There is also a new option with which Sims can travel or move to neighboring cities at any time. New game worlds are available with add-ons.
Controls — 4.5/5
The controls of the game are quite simple to use, remember, and understand. A mouse arrow has replaced the sliders in Sims 4. Thus, to perform any action, you can click, drag or merely pull. You can also leverage the same controls to manipulate the facial features of the Sims. The arrow keys can undertake the movement of the Sims. Also, there are special controls to control certain tasks. They are highlighted in the top right corner of the game.
Replay Value — 4.5/5
The game comes with quite a high replay value owing to many factors. There are many worlds and unique neighborhoods which one cannot travel to at once. Thus, the players return again and again to the game for the same. There are also many venues that build the curiosity to play the game again. Lastly, it’s the wish to see the life cycle of every Sim that attracts the players to the game.
The Sims 4 did not adopt the most interesting innovations of its predecessor, and did not implement the style editor and abandoned the idea of an open world. Nevertheless, the new part has its own successful solutions and innovations. It's a revised character editor, intuitively more understandable and allows for fine-tuning all the parameters, the system of emotions, which makes the interaction of the sim with the surrounding world deeper and more individual. Add to this improved for the better construction mode and the system "Smart Sim" - and it is clear that the new part at the moment also has something to offer the player.
Roam freely and feel like the ruler of the town as you dive into the gameplay of Sims 4.
Pros : Terrific graphics and brilliant sound effects
A lot of fun activities to undertake
Cons : Lots of options make the game a bit cluttered
